Virginia Tech - The Terps wore special uniforms to honor veterans and to support the Wounded Warrior Project. Danny played in the Terps' last offensive series. The weather wasn't the greatest but it was pretty good for what we have encountered so far in 2009. At the game/tailgate was Mom, Dad, Tom, Kate, Jordan, Uncle Jim, Aunt Lisa, Sarah, Jimmy, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Tony, Aunt Karen, Uncle John, Tommy, Pat, Chris, Eric and Brad.
NC State - Mom and Kate hit the road again! This time to see the Terps take on NC State in Raleigh, NC. Uncle Bob was driving up from Florida to Maryland and stopped by to watch the game.
Duke - Mom, Kate and Sarah made the road trip down to Durham, NC to see the Terps take on the Blue Devils. Danny had practiced with the 1st team all week due to Phil Costa's concussion. Coach Brattan told Danny he would get him in for a series. Unfortunately as Danny took the field the skies opened up and it looked like a monsoon hit the stadium. At the team hotel, Mom talked to Coach Friedgen and to Coach Brattan who told her how happy he was with Danny and that all Danny needed was a chance. Danny led the team onto the field before the game with the Maryland state flag.
Virginia - Another wet one. For this one we tailgated in the Regents Drive garage with the Pinegars. Along with the Pinegars, from our usual crowd we had Mom, Dad, Kate, Tom, Jordan, Jimmy. Aunt Lisa Martinez came to the tailgate to give Mom and Dad their anniversary gift.
Clemson - The Terps wore their black jerserys with their red pants for the first time and it proved to be a lucky choice as the Terps pulled off a big upset. In attendance to enjoy the game and the fantastic weather was Mom, Dad, Tom, Kate, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Tony, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Jim, Sarah, Jimmy and the good luck charm, Grandma Nelson!
Rutgers - This was our first of many wet games during the season. The rain started about half way through the pregame tailgate. At the game was Mom, Dad, Tom, Kate, Jordan, Jimmy, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Tony, and Mike and Katherine Jones. Uncle Jim, Aunt Lisa and Sarah were at the tailgate also (along with Woody!) but left when the game started. Fair-weather fans!
Middle Tennessee State - Argh! Terps fall to MTSU on a last second field goal. I almost got ejected after I was mistaken me for someone who had been involved in an incident with one of the security personnel. Instead I spent most of the first half being shadowed by another security person. A number of former Terps were on the sidelines for the game. At the tailgate was Mom, Dad, Kate, Tom, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Jim, Sarah, Jimmy, Aunt Lisa, and Uncle Tony.
James Madison - The Terps opened their 2009 home schedule against the James Madison Dukes. This was the first game in front of the expanded Tyser Tower. At the game was Mom, Dad, Kate, Tom, Jordan, Jimmy, Sarah, Uncle Jim, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Tony, Aunt Lisa and Mike and Beth Jones. Also at the game/tailgate were players and coaches from Tuscarora High School who came to see two former Titans, Danny and Jakarie Jackson who played for JMU.
California - During the summer of 2009 Danny made two trips to California. The second was to taken on the California Golden Bears. No one was able to come up with the cash to make the trip so we all had to watch on TV. It was a 10PM Eastern start time but those who stayed up got to see Danny appear in the last 2 series of the game. This picture is from the second series.
2009 Miscellaneous Pictures - These are pictures that appeared on various sites such as UMTERPS, MGN Matters blog, Facebook, Inside MD Sports or Terrapin Times.
Red/White Spring Game - Once again the spring game turned out to be a lot of fun as Dan saw a great deal of playing time. Before the game Mom, Dad, Kate and Sarah attended a players family picnic (Outback steak and chicken). After the picnic we headed to the autograph session to check out Dan and his teammates. From there it was game time. Also attending the game was Aunt Lisa E, Uncle Jim, Aunt Lisa M and Uncle Tony. Tommy and Jimmy had a makeup baseball game and couldn't come. The Clementson's stopped by and talked to Mom during the game. Down on the field after the game Coach Brattan stopped by to tell us how well Danny had done in the Spring. Of course I make such a great impression on people that he thought Jim was me and spoke to him as if he was Dan's father.....AWESOME! For the post-game tailgate we met up with the Galts and had a large number of current and former players stop by including Edwin and Chris.
